Proposal, ca.1961, typed, to manufacture high grade pig iron and pure iron based on the metallurgical research of Dr. Richard Cole, whose feasibility report is included in this proposal. Other parts of the report discuss financing, including some clippings on and a copy of the Ala. bill to exempt industrial revenue bonds from taxation; the site, including a detailed map of the proposed location of the plant on the Tennessee River, west of Sheffield, Colbert Co., Ala., and detailed maps of the plan for the pig iron smelter and other equipment; raw material, the labor climate in the Florence, Lauderdale Co., and Tuscumbia and Sheffield, Colbert Co., Ala.; transportation in the same area, power supply, capital costs, operating costs, profitability, market, and management, including short biographical sketches of James V. Reynolds, William J. Pasley, Richard Cole, Irving L. Bander, Lewis Cohen, and Walter Harrison.
